Thanks to the Microbiology society for funding James Provan's visit to our lab!

James in a lab with a few more windows than ours!

I met James Provan, Sean Colloms and Andrzej Stasiak at the 2017 EMBO meeting on DNA topology and topoisomerases in Les Diablerets. We set up a really fruitful collaboration and generated some initial data. Based on these promising results, James applied to the microbiology society to visit our lab for a month, to carry out high resolution AFM imaging of DNA. James was successful in his grant, and he worked closely with Kavit to generate some data, enjoying the usual problematic pitfalls of AFM imaging on the way. If you’re interested in finding out about what he got up to in the lab, James wrote a post for the Microbiology Society about his visit, which you can find here.
